ATLANTA — Ben Johnson's weeklong quarterback shenanigans included the Bears head coach not wanting to even name a backup quarterback.

Ninety minutes before the Bears' game against the Falcons, they did.

The team decided to make Case Keenum the emergency third quarterback, meaning that Tyson Bagent will back up Caleb Williams in his return. Williams is playing for the first time since tearing his hamstring in Week 2 against the Vikings.,

The Bears made tackle Ozzy Trapilo active for the first time since his patellar tendon injury in January.

Cornerback Tyrique Stevenson, who has a hamstring injury, was ruled out. Malik Muhammad is likely to take his place opposite Jaylon Johnson with slot cornerback Kyler Gordon back from a calf injury.

Bagent struggled Sunday against the Packers, leading Johnson to duck questions all week about whether he preferred Keenum, who won his only start this year, over Bagent.

The Bears had previously ruled out running back Kyle Monangai, linebacker T.J. Edwards and linebacker Keyshaun Elliott. The Bears made offensive lineman Jordan McFadden and defensive lineman Jayden Loving inactive.
